b_have
Hi all, have a wierd problem at the mo. When accelerating from a standstill, am experiencing what feels like momentary fuel cut as it approaches around 3~5 mph. Only happens when using >40% throttle. Feels exactly like the launch control feature on the RLTC, but happens even with the RLTC switched to the off position. This is def related to speed as no sign of this over 10mph. No error codes flagged, apart from this the car is performing superbly. Any ideas?

Branners
Terminator or Matt Harwood are the people to talk to on this. THey know the RLTC quite well. JB
b_have
Cheers JB, But not convinced it is the rltc as it occurs even when its switched off. However, if it is, I remember reading somewhere that there is a modified DATfile available?
Steve
PM Terminator. He does alot with the dat files for these.
Branners
you need to get the RLTC set to your specific settings. Termy works it out from the wheel and tyre size and can usually provide a file if he isnt too busy. Then it generally needs a bit of fine tuning. Ian C
What's your minimum speed and rpm thresholds set to? I had a funny cut occur around 2200ish rpm when my min rpm threshold was 2250 - changed it to 2000 and it's fine. I was thinking maybe the RLTC brain doesn't like a 50rpm number... -Ian
b_have
Ian, I fitted the rltc about 5 years ago, never even looked at the software as it worked perfect right outa the box. This problem has only emerged recently and occurs even when switched off. Does the rltc have any influence in the off mode? If it does, then i have the feeling this problem may have started around the time I switched from 17" to 18" wheels.
Ian C
That'll do it I'd think, if the rolling radius is even slightly out from what the RLTC unit thinks it is you'll get spurious behaviour and it may not stop wheelspin at an important moment... It's easy enough to recalibrate though, -Ian
b_have
Even when switched off? Right then, now where did I put that software in 1999.......
Ian C
Dunno about when it's switched off But it's something to try... -Ian
SimonB
When it's switched off it's switched off, so unlikely to be anything to do with RLTC unless it's gone completely bonkers and isn't switching off. Have you still got the stock TC?
b_have
Yes, thats what I thought, stock system is still there but fuseless, also wouldn't cause fuel cut. feeling a bit lost as to where to look next.
Ian C
What's your fuelling like at the moment of hissyfit? -Ian
b_have
What's your fuelling like at the moment of hissyfit? -Ian Ian, its hard to tell, its so momentary, but my wideband flashes lean (20afr) so I'm sure its fuel cut. It ONLY happens when flooring it from a complete standstill. Seems to cut twice, then at around 10mph no prob. Maybe dodgy fcd or speed delimiter i guess
