Intermittent trouble starting

Just recently my Supe sometimes refuses to start. No problems turning over (battery's fine) and if I try for long enough (playing around with the alarm in the interim) it always starts.... Having two alarms fail in my previous car I'm highly suspicious of the immobilizers (it has the standard Toyota alarm and a Clifford Concept 300 installed), but is there anything else it could possibly be besides the alarm? Most of the time it starts first time, it seems pretty random when it won't and it's pretty embarassing!

Anyway any ideas greatly appreciated, otherwise I'll be paying the alarm guy a visit.

Regards,

Francis

Very occassionally if I tried to start immediately after switching the immobiliser off it would not start. It always started straight after though on the second turn of the key. Sanjay gave me an explanation that I can't remember so I'd pay him a visit. Let me know if you don't have his details but they should be on the certificate of installation. It's right next to Pinner station so shouldn't be any more than half an hour to get there although the entrance is completely concealed so it's tricky to find.

BTW the battery is only a few months old so shouldn't be any probs there.
