Fifty
Hi all Can someone help? Went out today no probs then speedo went off (it has been doing this a few times recently). spoiler activated at low speed; and car stalled, also [power steering heavy. Reverse gear disappeared as well (doh!). Trac lite flashing also. Car is only driveable in manu mode and reverse has started working again. Could all these faults be related to the speed converter.

Fifty
OK chaps The link to dash removal has gone; can someone walk me through it. I know about the airbag bit. Also if I have to go to the pass footwell how do you get to the ECU; sorry to sound so dumb.
Pete
Also if I have to go to the pass footwell how do you get to the ECU; sorry to sound so dumb. 50 I'd try this first mate as it's the easiest. The carpet is held in place with plastic clips - try to remove these without breaking them. Theres two big ones at the upper edge, and one on the left in the black plastic trim you may find it easier to remove (that's just one of those push 'em in the middle ones). Pull the carpet back. and remove the plastic protector panel under that. Voila - one ECU. There may be more screws than that - I'm not sure as mine was already exposed. Pete
Dash removal is a synch (although I'm not sure what you mean about Airbag bit!? Don't go near it..) Lift up the ash tray and pull out. Pull up on the surround of this, onplug the wire and remove. Unscrew the top panel (with the odo/warning lights on) and remove by light pull towards you (five screws?) The centre dial surrounds just pulls off towards you. Remove the screw at the top of the left panel and it will pull off too. Start at the bottom and beware off all the plugs behind so as not to stretch or pull any tight cables. All plugs will only fit on one way so don't worry too much. Pete
Or just follow that guide of course... DOH! Incidently on that guid you don't need to undo the right section to remove the centre and the dial surrounds.

Fifty
Now appears to be fixed - replaced the speed convertor as on inspection no bad wires etc. Could have done without the £70 cost TBH. Gonna hit the other one with a very big hammer.
