valve damage on ford engines?

Well basically my supra replacement went to have it's cam belt replaced today. I supplied the garage with a new ford cambelt kit, and all the other extras need to change the belt. got a call to say they had an accident....

They didn't tightent the bolt that locks the cam wheel... :thumbdown so my question is what other damage might have the piston meeting valve do? They are taking the head off to see how many new valves they need now. It's a 1.8td if that makes any diffrence. Does any one know if the head bolts and head gasket can be re-used?

the 1.8d . you will need new headgasket, bolts and i have seen valve guides also cracking when the valves bend  . it all depends on the engine speed at time of the timing slipping.

As far as I can tell they only just turned it over when it slipped. I'll be going to have a look myself sometime.
