FAO those with aftermarket bonnets

Hmmm I'm wondering if the seperation was caused by his own incompetence, in not shutting the bonnet properly to start with....but as it says in his signiture now, get bonnet pins for aftermarket bonnets.

This doesn't necessarily point to the bonnet being rubbish, it depends on the air pressure exerted on it. It's one of those things that you can never tell 100%....I do expect though that no aftermarket bonnet is tested for pressure being exerted from underneath.

I don't think anyone is under the misunderstanding that aftermarket = better quality than OEM....OEM is the daddy...most just try to get as close as possible.

I have a Stout bonnet and it stays well put at any speeds, i have taken it to nearly 200 on a runway. the only time it ever concerns me is in bad air behind other car, then the the forces are un-balanced and the bonnet moves a little due to extra force from the engine bay not being balanced by the lack of force caused by the drag of the car in front.
