View Full Version : Tyre Pressure - What should it be?

Was just wondering what tyre pressure is recommended on a Supe. Details of what I am running on:
Front: 235 45 RZ 17 Goodyear F1s.
Rear: 255 40 RZ 17 Goodyear F1s.
Picked up the Supe about 3 weeks ago. After a week checked the pressure, the front ones were at 24 and rear at 27. Filled up the front to 32 and rear to 33. Immediately felt the handling and ride improve. The chart on the driver sidewall recommends about 36 all round, tried that, but seemed to make the care feel less stable, so put it back down to 32/33.
Any input would be appreciated.
I usually run mine at 34 all round (same tyres/sizes as you have) :)

What's the advantage of running it lower at the rear?
You're on stock size rubber, Toyota recommend 36psi all round.

Thats what I run, 36psi, stock 17" alloys, Michelin Pilot Sports.

I tried 36 all round, but the Supe felt less stable, almost as though was floating!

It feels like I have more grip at the rear using 32, rather than 34.

That's why I reduced to 34. :D

I have F1's all round
19" with 255 front and 275 rear, 29 psi at the front and 30 rear, is this too low then as it feels like the grip is great?

I have the same size and make/model of tyres and run at the Toyota 36 psi all round :D

Increasing the pressure a little could improve your fuel consumption...
On the other hand, the more grip the better :D

On my stock 17" and 18" I run 34 front and 33 rear, I have good grip stability and even wear.
