Bonnet Catches

My Jap spec battery lasted only 6 weeks before dying a terrible death due to

the alarm etc. I have replaced with an HBC005 and new battery connections.

(I only bought one of these batteries 6 months ago for my scoob) :thumbdown

Anyways everything is fine with the exception that when I close the bonnet, and start her up there is a slight vibration on the bonnet. I am sure the bonnet is not touching the terminals. but if you push down the front of the bonnet were the two catches are there is play. How do I adjust these to hold

the bonnet down tighter.

Thanks :thanks:

I had a problem with the bonnet not catching right on one side and there is very little play in the adjustment of the catches (3 screws). Found that just letting the bonnet go from a slightly higher height cured the problem but don't slam it down with your hand as dead easy to dent the bonnet.

Are you sure you're pushing it down firm enough so the bonnet catches can hold it down. Careful you don't put a dent in it.

On each side near the wing there is a rubber stop which can be turned to lower or lift up , this should stop the bonnet from vibrating.
