Has anyone got a picture of a silver painted dash with the black bit behind the perspex screen (that's right next to the dials) painted and unpainted?

Bit specialist I know, but if you don't ask... :)

Can't make up my mind if I should spray this bit or not as well as the rest of the dash. At least it hasn't got the rubber coating on it...

Bloody hell Chipmunk, did you nick my pictures :D just kidding, mine is exactly the same including the steering wheel , blitz meters, the lot...

The only difference is the head unit (i have a PC in there) and I have EGT guage in the drivers right hand side air vent. Apart from that we be the same..

did you diy or get it done professionally? looks the nuts !

Read up about the DIY approach and was shying away from it, especially when a local professional offered to do it for £80 as a private job.

He did a good job albeit he underestimated the work needed to prepare it for the finish needed, hence why I think the price was too low and him vowing not to touch another one afterwards.

Agreed matey, my bodyshop guy had done one before and told me that I had to strip all the panels out and remove all the switches etc which took about half an hour.

He charged me £120 which I thought was ok considering its a perfect job with lots and lots of thick laquer to protect it and to get a deep metallic finish :D

Then took me 20 mins to put back together again, I would not consider doing the prep, spray or finish work myself!

i've had the dash apart a few times so thats not an issue but i'd be too scared to spay it cos of the point of no return, once i've started then thats it !

i think i'd prefer to get someone who knows what they're doing at least if they fuk up i can have a go at them ;)

very nice both of them.

cos i have a silver car i'd go for the silver dash.

My bits are all sitting in the kitchen all rubber-stripped and ready to go.

Interesting that in none of the pics posted has anyone painted the bit next to the dials. Hmmm. I'm sure I remember seeing one where someone had done it. I have a vague memory of it being Dude's car, but I could be wrong.

hope this helps

Liking that one! Not sure what i want to do with my dash when i get it. Not too sure on the painted look, maybe its too bright i dont know. The leather retrims look smart but expensive i bet. And carbon fibre looks too fussy.

Hmmm, so doesn't look like anyone has painted the bit next to the dials then. Infact, Supraloopy's looks like it's been picked out in black especially.

This means I shall have to do mine silver then... just to be different. :)

sorry for being an idiot but what bit are you refering to?? :tumble:
