Hi All
I've decided that I need 4 new tyres. The current tyres I have on the Soop are...
Fronts - 235/40/18
Rears - 265/35/18
Now, knowing nothing about tyres or their correct sizes - do they sound right?
Has anyone used mytyres.co.uk? They seem to have the tyres specified above at reasonable prices. Just got to get them fitted then! I can't see many garages wanting to fit tyres that they haven't supplied ???
Any help appreciated...
Paul
:thanks:

Speak to Ibrar of Pro Alloys (on this site) he'll do you a good deal and yes those are the right sizes for 18" wheels IMO.

I have 235/40/18s on the front and 255/35/18s on the back, we all have different sizes on the back, but I am sure you can safely go to 275/35/18s without having to roll your arches. Some one is sure to come along and put us right.

The best sizes for 18s, which stay closest to the original rolling radius, are generally accepted to be 245/40 and 275/35, though believe you can get away with 285 on the back. Obviously, you can chop and change as long as you get a rolling radius that's close to stock - google for tyre size calculator, it's located on a US miata site.

Most tyre fitters are happy to charge around £10 per wheel to fit tyres supplied elsewhere - But it's worth shopping around. When I bought mine I looked at all the online suppliers, but still got the ones I wanted cheaper locally. :)

I've used mytyres before (not for the sup though) and there prices are ok although there customer service leave a lot to be desired. Get freindly  (how freindly i'll leave up to you) with the fitters at your local tyre centre. Go down when its quiet and most will fit some tyres for the price of a few pints in their back pocket.
