lost boost

when the second turbo kicks in, it seems to have lost boost and seems to make a grawling noise. ant ideas???

of course this could just be me getting used to the power

not sure what a grawling noise means mate, have you got a boost gauge? what sort of mods you runnin?

Was this a sudden loss of boost or is it a general lack of 'kick' after 4k rpm? Do you have a boost gauge, if so what readings do you see?

You might have jost blown off a pipe somewhere which is causing the 2nd turbo not to spool. Do you have any aftermarket silicon pipes fitted?

Check all the vaccum lines and the intercooler lines mate. Also you need to give us more info such as how much boost you are seeing at different RPM's.

the car is completely standard, it just doesnt seem to give as much kick after 4k rpm. i have checked all the pipes and there are all in tact.

It does sound like you've lost/split one of the pipes controlling the 2nd turbo. Just to check its not a sticky actuator - if you lift off for a couple of secs then re-plant the accelerator does the power come back?

yes it does sometimes but not other times!! i shall check them over again wiv a fine tooth coumb in the morning, cheers for you help

Have you checked all EBV and EBV VSV pipes?

Have you checked all IACV and IACV VSV pipes?

Pressure tank connections and pipes?

Checked for cracks or splits?

People often say 'yeah, I've checked them all' and what they mean is that they looked at the top of the engine and nothing was obviously missing. Not the same thing.

Without a boost gauge it's hard to diagnose boost problems by the way.
