View Full Version : Monthly Meet - Yorkshire - 1st Tuesday of the Month
Squires Milkbar near Sherburn in Elmet (popular biker haunt on other nights)
The meet is from 7pm onwards which gives plenty of time to have a bit of something to eat / drink and a chat before it starts getting dark.
The milkbar has an on site cafe / pub serving food, hot & cold drinks, bar, toilets arcade machines etc... loads of seating inside and out so don't worry about the weather.
It's located just outside Sherburn-in-Elmet which is 5 minutes from the A1 on the A1222, more info on the venue below:

Sat Nav seems to be confused by the recent changes to the A1 so don't be suprised if it tries to take you over fields :)
Pics from meets last year to give you an idea of what shows up:

Would it be okay for 'not Supra owners yet' to come along?
D'you know, I think I might just pop along after work.

LOL of course, just don't park too close or attempt to talk to anyone ;)

Should be a great venue, especially if the weather is good, some nice roads around those parts too :)
Oh and please feel free to spread the word to other Japanese car enthusiast sites :)

I know the Cawood road particularly well ;)

I hate talking to people I've not met before. It'd be "Nice car" followed by the sound of wind whistling through the trees for ten minutes.:tumble:
If i remember then I'm in!!! ;) :D :D :D

Write it on your hand :)
To anyone that's in any doubt this is a great meeting place, I sometimes go there on my bike (K5 Gixxer thou) and some of the surrounding roads are tops. Interesting that they've given you a Tuesday spot though as I was there just last Tuesday (on bike) and the car park was pretty near full.

Interesting feedback, I can't be mixing with these scary biker types :)
Work permitting I will be there, look forward to getting to know a few members from the local area. See you at 7ish
I'll be there! i too am a biker and often frequent the milk bar on a Wednesday on my Fireblade. Be interesting going up there in my Soop for a change!
Plus it'll give me a chance to meet some of you i haven't met yet! :grouphug:

Ok,
I'll see you then I finish work at 4 so will go home change and then drive down, will go off on slip road and wait for you.
Tom :thanks:
Wont be making this one, but seeing as it a regular meet, should be good for the next
This is still going ahead isn't it guys! :stickpoke
Be a shame for only a couple of us to show up if this is going to be a monthly meet! We need to set the benchmark for future meets so they'll allow us to keep holding it there! Plus, first impressions count guys, so all local Soops, come on guys, lets show em how WE do it!

I wanna come along but I'm proper embarrassed about turning up in my Volvo. :limp:
I'm still planning to go :)
don't worry about the volvo mate i'll be going in an escort - not to show obviously but will be there to have a look at the beauties from japan
I should be there, despite the crap weather, maybe put the RLTC through it's paces.
How many people is that so far ?
there looks to 30+ people going but with the weather that might go down
Sorry to say that I won't be showing up tonight, Supra still off the road and I really don't fancy going down on my K5 1000. Only met Mcanny before and it would've been good to meet a few more fellow Supra owners, hope that those of you that do make it have a good time and I'll be there next time (car / weather permitting) for sure, enjoy.
It's going to be a regular thing so we'll see you next time :)
Matt et all
weather up here is lousy, and travelling down there is not a good idea so won't be comimg !!
On the other hand pretty sure most of you will be thinking of me in court tomorrow afternoon, will post as soon as I know or get home
Have a Good 1

Weather lousy here but still coming! What time everyone going?
I'll be leaving around 6:30, M62 seems to be screwed though so I might be a bit later than 7....
i was thinkin of goin but it's chuckin it and i was slidin about all over the place as it was! i'll go next month :D
I've only just got home. Left at five!!!! Our village now has a moat. Maybe next month.
Just got back from this! Was only 4 Supras there, and i only actually met one of the drivers. (McCanny, good to meet you!) It chucked it down all the way there, so the car was in a bit of a mess when i arrived, but it didn't rain once whilst we were there!!??
Didn't realise there would be so many other cars there! A good 30 plus, including Skylines, NSX's. MR2's, Subaru's and Mitsub Evo's! :stickpoke
Hope weather is better for us next time, and that a few more of us will show up! We were seriously outnumbered tonight :help: , and couldn't find each other!!! :tumble: (You know who you are!) :sly:
Sorry im a one of those. Didnt think anyone would be going in the sh1te weather. Ill be on the next one

 might be better !!
The weather wasn't too bad once there, it was the trip up that was a nightmare... and the trip back was scary as hell due to 2 miles of diesel spillage.... whoah!!!!!!!!
Anyway a great meet, some nice cars there and good to see some old and new faces - we just need to organise the parking a bit more for the next one :)
Only got a chance to take a few pics due to chatting too much and it getting dark:
http://www.megaboost.co.uk/supra/mine/yorkshire-05-07-05/
Really good venue, just don't trust TomTom to get you there, it has no idea that the A1 has moved and will really screw up.... see you at the next one!
great meet last night, if thats what its like when the weather is bad i'd love to see it when its sunny, i'll post some pics on here tonight i think i got most of the cars there hope to see you all there next month

the m1 was shut down last night too at juction 34
I thought that new, white import Integra was a barried up Civic with bodykit, the one that drove in with two white original integras. Luckily, today someone at work pointed out it was a Jap only model. Well I never.
I would have loved to have seen the owners face if you'd mentioned that to him :)
I geniunely thought that, and I said to myself "He's got some balls, hanging out with the real Integra crew"
Remember, ignorance is no defence.

Ahhh .. see where you're coming from now .... DOH :donkey: Just might do that, depending what time Im passing
Anyone thinking of travelling to this should do so.
The weather is glorious here and should help it to stay lighter for longer. Might be the last chance before the nights really draw in and the weather turn to shite and the meets go hardcore.
Very glad I polished the car last night despite the warnings of thunderstorms.
So get your arses down there and make it early for good parking.:D
Now it's getting later in the year and the sun disappears earlier is it worth moving the meet forward 30 minutes or so?
Now it's getting later in the year and the sun disappears earlier is it worth moving the meet forward 30 minutes or so?
I could make 6.30 no problem ... as long as Im not the only one there  or were you thinking of next month Mike?
Michael (Thorin) and I are going, so long as I dont get us lost!!! :)
I was thinking for next month really, should be OK until 8:30 or so tonight and the carpark is lit for when the darkness eventually appears - gives us chance to get some nice sunset pictures anyway :)
Blue skies and warm air down here at the moment, it probably means the carpark will be packed with bikes again.
Should be a good one tonight! Weather spot on, and most bikers go there on a Wednesday so we should be ok!
Car passed MOT straight through today, so i'll be treating her to a mad thrash down there!
Be popping along as well - be good to meet some of you guys being a newbie to the club n'all)
Who's coming tomorrow then? Thorin and Lick, did you make the last one, didn't see you? Dale, you coming again, i know Tom's coming this time if you wanted to convoy down with him? :stickpoke

Balls! Our technicians are off ill in science, so we are having to get all our own equipment, so I will not be able to make it tonight, as I have a heap of stuff I am having to go and get.
Damn practicals, I need about 200 flowers with tall stamens, bit like daffodills to cut up.
A couple of pig hearts and maybe some lungs.
What a shopping list I have.......

Had fun coming home from this.
Made it to the motorway junction but the sliproad onto the M62 that I needed was closed. Drove around and chose to head down A1 towards Doncaster thinking I'd find somewhere along the way to turn off towards Wakefield.
On the edge of Doncaster I get to a junction that shows a way to Wakey. Then a dilemma. Straight on to Wakey or off to the M62 towards Leeds. For some reason I thought the M62 must come close to Doncaster at this point. Thinking it'd be faster I choose the latter option. As I go along the slip road I realise my BIG mistake. I'm dumped back on the A1 heading back toward the closed junction.
Get back and manage to spot the detour signs this time. I'm now on the M62 but heading east not west. Next junction I have to double back and eventually I'm heading home.
1 hour 20 minutes instead of the usual 40.
Moral: Never follow me, I'll be lost too.

i'll probably set off about 7 after matilda has gone to bed. care to share your easy route? it took me about an hour and a half last time with all the bloody detours.
How about I meet you at the Shell garage near where I always see you? I'll get there for seven and wait for you.
I've gotta dash out now, will check back about 6-ish.
Im going ,will be there for 6.30,but not in supra ,in mates GTO. (quarter mile killr):rlol:
Why is this thread in the Midlands section?
I'm a Southerner and evn I know you don't tell a Yorkshireman he lives in the Midlands.
It shouldn't be in the NE section either, the geography skills on here scare me
Michael,
As per usual , people complain about location !!
hope about we split the events sections into towns and it becomes harder still.
On a point, I have no idea why your in the midlands section, there is a thread for a squires meet in the NE section to, so ????:search:
there should be a proper yorkshire section like :)
ey martin, thanks for going out of your way yesterday, appreciated.
i enjoyed the drive home, but i got the call to return home with some tea NOW.
Wow Skipton and the Isle of Man are in the same region, when I lived in Sheeptown I never considered I'd be grouped like that.
I amazed that anyone makes it to meets without ending up a few hundred miles out of their way.
how many normaly come along to this meeting?
Generally 5 > 10+ Supras and a range of other stuff - worth a trip.
Some of them even turn up clean.
Some of them even turn up clean.

Don't forget that this months meet is Tomorrow. Nice and early in the month for a change.

When you get your car back, you have to, like, on pain of death, get your car down to Squires. I guess you'll be looking at June now though. Awesome looking car. The single jobbie is looking great and sadly I couldn't distract Gaz long enough to make off with your wheels.:d:innocent::eyebrows:

no tax...been unemployed 3 months and only just started working again, its got no wheels on, its on axle stands :D
just polishing wheels and tidying up a few bits thats all
Should have lent her to me. I needed a winter car!
Anyone who normally goes to this (but hasn't tonight) what time does this typically break up?
I was thinking of coming, but had to stay late at work :complain:, so I won't get there much before 21:00 - assuming no traffic. since it starts at 19:00 I guess it's probably not worth the trip this month.
Maybe another time I'll come, and perhaps I'll drag a few *cough* Westerners *cough* with me.
Mike
Definitely not going to make it tonight then, which is a shame as it would seem that everyone is there, and it would have been good to meet you all. Hope you had a good evening.
Mike
Mike,
tell me about it, but there is a rumbling in the near distance......
Next month for definate.......
Tom, you still on for TurboFit next week ? I Really felt for you mate when I saw that they had to postpone.
Hope it all goes well, and you're pleased with the results. How long is it in for?

Update to follow, but things are happening
Sorry for the lack of response, as you guessed we were there :)
We left about 9:30ish but there were still people there
I can't be bothered to resize them all right now but a few group shots from tonight:
No problem Mr Canny, I blame work personally :D
What is the parking like at Squires for late arrivals, I know that at Mascrat Manor (Our monthly meet), if you aren't there early you can't park.
Mike
Bit like that really

It's unlikely we'll run out of room thanks to the field over the road but parking in the proper car park can get a bit tight - people don't like to park within the lines or close to the next car so it gets sloppy after a while :)
Just find a clump of Supras and block them in.
nice meet tonight, loads of lovely cars, and the chavs in there saxo's
met new people, especially mr canny that looks like my best mate even down to his laugh
Hands up which three attendees went really fast on the way home straight past a copper sat on the other side of the road?
As usual, nice to see everyone and meet some new ones. Some luvverly Skylines there tonight too.
Mmm... I saw one of those 'motorway trooper' 4x4 things and an ambulance but no police - where were they?
Nice to meet some new people :)

oh no, what we gonna do about the chavs? did they get moved on?
I found them amusing - we should keep them in a corner to laugh at :)

Quality turn out last night, I am sorry we did not spend as much time with you guys in the "supra" corner. Next month though?
We got a bit carried away looking at the quality cars that were in attendance.
Great night, thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the ride home on the M62 to Hull.
Templewaters was racing a R34. My car is over-fueling like mad, so found it hard to get the power down.....
Anyone know a decent place to get my SAFCII set up in Yorkshire?????

Okay, I can't swear that it was the Rozzers. My contact says he was going too fast. They were just after the point were a black Supra style car tore off into the distance shortly followed by a silver Supra style car. :eyebrows:

...and Supras are not quality cars?
Who owns the black Supe with no spoiler?
Who owns the red Supra with Racing Development written on the side?

The black spoilerless supra was Simon, the lad I came with called Templewaters on the forum.
The red supra is on another club, but I talked him into defecting?
Supras are quality cars, I quote "exotica"

Hmmm I do recall seeing a black car leaving followed closely by a silver car. ;)
well next meet i hopefully will be bringing my old girl along all shiney and gleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeming, and naked:eyebrows: :eyebrows:
i refuse to be the man in the passenger seat any longer :p just does not have the same affect turning up to a meet as a passenger

Don't forget where you need to be this Tuesday evening. The forecast looks good and it'll be light until about 10pm.
I think that getting there early is compulsory. It's going to be rammed.
What time do you call early?
I am hoping to take a run up from Nottingham, will be leaving around 6:20ish. Has anyone got the address of this place and a postcode so I can stike in the SatNav or can I meet up with someone that knows where they are going?

Buddy I would leave earlier! I could meet you at Ferrybridge S/S off the A1 if that would help, would be about 6-6:15 though!

Thanks for the offer but the other half doesn't get in from work till around 6:10ish so think I might be pushing my luck for that meeting time
Takes me about 15 mins to get to the A1 at Newark from where I live then it looks like a straight run up. Autoroute says its about a 60 mile trip so should take me just over the hour to get there, can someone save me a space please :) I have posted about this meet in the Midlands section on the forum too to see if anyone else fancies joining me for a cruise out, hopefully there might be a couple of us.

Excellent news buddy! Well done!
It's nice and sunny. A little bit hazy but that'll burn off. Should be an great evening.
Last night, it didn't get proper dark until about ten to ten. If you need to leave early, park by the entrance. :d
Can't believe that the car is still pristine. Polished on friday and it hasn't rained (for more than a minute!) since.
Def coming in the 666 car tonight! See ya all there lads. Be good to catch up again, plus meet some of the new ones i didn't meet last year! No Soop for me tho., but at least i'll be there! :)
if i decide to go in the green omega then i wont be there till 7.30ish egt yourself along
You still making an appearance my fine friend?:)
Just got home, time to clean the Supra now ready for tonight. No doubt it will be covered in dead flies by the time I get there but atleast I will have tried!! :)
Just hope the missus gets home early tonight so we can get away around 6pm ish. Look forward to seeing everyone later.
Checking mails then shower and out, need to wash car and on route I come.

Look forward to seeing everyone...save me a space if it gets busy!!
Car all clean now, missus is home and making that life threatenin' decision of 'what to wear'!!! So might be out of here by 10pm!!!
Hoping to be up there around 7:30, see you all later.
Just got home, had a great evening at the Squires Meet. Nice to meet everyone, good turn out. Thanks for making both me and the missus feel welcome, hope to be back next month.
Forgot to get a tax disc holder from you Tom, Doh!!! Looks like I will be staying with the selotape for a while longer!!
Nice to meet all some new faces. Loads of Supes there this time. Excellent. Pixelfill, nice to meet you finally. Michael car was amazing and good to see Richies too.
Tom. Your car is awesome. Sorry I forgot to say goodbye. Matt as well.
Just got home also, was good to meet you all, Sorry to those I met but didn't say goodbye to. I think that would include you Matt 6 and your missus. Cheers to Daz, Simon, Tom and Martin for making me feel welcome. :grouphug:
Michael - I was looking around for you, saw your car - which looked very nice, but didn't see you until you were pulling out to leave.
And sincere apologies to whoever was parked between Martin and Daz, I don't think I said hello to you :imsorry:
Anyway until next time guys :friday:

Well i am just home, checking emails then Bed, will upload pics tomorrow.

Ah it was great, you missed them two girls get topless, and the flypast by the Red Arrows. Then these two unicorns started fighting over a lost backpack full of biscuits, imagine that.
It was a nice sunny evening, I have some photos from the short time I was there if anyone wants them for the hosting of.
Nice to meet you all again, and nice to meet some new faces!
Matt 6................. sell your car to me, been thinking about it all night and i MUST relieve you of it!! ;)
Great meet, weather was spot on, Michel's Soop is that fastest thing i have ever been out in! Didn't know a car could be that fast that it creates it's own timezone! :)
Yep had a good night, makes a nice change the weather being warm! :D
Good to speak to everyone again even though I did just end up speaking to the usual suspects again. Was good to see Michel again, he probably went home and ordered another half a dozen turbo's to try by now ;)
Not too impressed with the owner of that silver and pink skyline with the cracked windscreen. He floored it out of the car park completely sideways forcing my girlfriend and dog to leap out of the way and get covered in dust and gravel from it.

Yeah, it was a bit uncalled for wasn't it! Just cos he has graphics all the way down the side of it, does not give him the right to drive like a nob!
I'm all for dramatic exits from the car park, but not if it endangers anyone! :spank:
rob, send pics to me and i will put in my photobucket account if you want

Have to agree with this, no need for what he did with people so close by. There is a time and place for moves like that and its people like that that give nights like Squires a bad name.
Really enjoyed the cruise out for the night, hoping to make the next few of these. Looking forward to seeing some pics of the night. :)
ok, will start pic up load in a mo:p
