Plan B

I bought this supra a few weeks ago to repair and get back on the road. I had a bodyshop lined up to do some realigning, and have had to wait 2weeks for the guy to get off holiday to look at my car. Anyway, after looking at it yesterday he has said that he is far too busy to take the job on at the moment.

Now, I could spend ages trailering the car around getting quotes from other body specialists, but this could go on for ever. So I am now considering plan B. I am interested in finding a rolling shell, maybe a donor car that has had its engine and even the interior removed that I could swap my stuff into. Even one with light damage [panel damage] would be ok.

Anyway, I have no idea what price range something like this would go for, so if anyone has sold a rolling shell in the past, or knows anybody with something for sale that I may be interested in, please let me know.

cheers.

Hi Rik, Re-shelling will be unbelievably more hassle than fixing that sort of damage. It looks like the only serious problem is the inner wing on the passenger side, if it wasn't for that you could do most of the rest on your driveway!

I know a few guys that could sort this out for you but none are anywhere near you, sorry.

I'm sure that once that wing is fixed the rest will be pretty simple to sort out.

Cheers mate. I'm sorting out a couple of quotes in my area to get the inner wing put straight on a jig, and have everything checked for alignment. One of them is a Toyota specialist so maybe they will help, but some aren't interested because it is a High Performance car. What area are the people you know off in?

I'll be after that I/C soon mate, need it running to move it around.
