RobSheffield
even still, widebody or not, the TRD cutouts look cool....are they functional at all, or just for looks?
CJ
Yep, I have 'em and yes they are functional as they disperse heat from the engine via the cutouts. Mine do this especially well as I do not have the rain guards in.
CJ
Oops! I just re-read the thread title and realised you were talking about the wings and not the bonnett The wing cut outs offer no apparent benefit other than looking cool as feck!

China Man
where to get it done and I presume that you will need to paint the cut out edges? let me try with my angle grinder later j/k China
Gaz Walker
I had them done my purple beast. Looks cool. I just measured the size on Kevin's car, give it to the body shop and they cut the hole with an air saw. Job's a good un. Yes you need to re-paint afterwards Gaz. baldy
treat it like brass rubbings tape a sheet of paper over the cutout, shade with a pencil should give the outline, scan to pc and every bodies happy then get a tape measure out so we can locate the right position
RobSheffield
may be best to get an A3 sheet of paper, get edges onto wing top, wheel arch and one edge on rear of front wing, then do as 'baldy' suggests - rub the edge - then we can sort it. if you are goin to JapShow on saturday we can do it then if you like? CJ
'tis going to be a problem ATM as the car is in the garage for a week or so.
Jay
If your going to do it, do it properly! The TRD ones are rolled inwards to give a very very smooth finish, i've seen quite a few that have been done that leave a sharp edge and IMO doesn't look anywhere near as good. PS Old pic, the orange repeaters have died a nasty death
CJ
Well, I reckon mine look fine and have had nothing but positive comments. If you roll them inwards, how do you attach the mesh inside?
darren j adams
6" on the top 12.5"drop curved edges They are not rolled as such, that is how thick the wings are. D.
Jay
They are not rolled as such, that is how thick the wings are.Indeed, but I was referring to the fact that the edges aren't "sharp" but have been smoothed/rounded off to give a very professional finish. Well, I reckon mine look fine and have had nothing but positive comments.I agree, i'm just stating my preference. If you roll them inwards, how do you attach the mesh inside? They are flat on the inside, and the wings have little mounting screws/pins. suprasport
is it just a matter of cutting hole and then mesh at the back? haven't seen any mesh on pics
Ben-san
Col, I do have a clear pic of your side vent from Bovingdon...
SupraStar 3000
i'm going to get flamed for saying this but this is another reason why I recently put my so called "shopping list" graphics BACK ON The side panel looks just to sparse and featureless for my taste and the TRD wings look ace because it gives the side profile alittle more character. I too looked at the TRD option but chickened out in favor of graphics.
