Hi guys

Im off to look at what is suspected to be a GZ on sunday :ecstatic: (owner is not quite sure on model). Its a blue '95 plate TT with 49K on the clock auto.

options include full leather, active front spoilers, rear spoiler, a Jap equivilant version of a clifford concept 50 with remote start, J spec brakes :( air con blah blah

Would just like a few pointers on what to look out for regarding common faults. Ive had a search and everything seems so model specific (lame excuse i know) many thanks in advance :thanks:

If it is a GZ, the lat 2 letters of the model code on the chassis plate will be ZZ (see here )

Apart from the usual thing that you would check on any car, a couple of things to look at

Make sure the active spoiler drops at about 60 mph and goes back up at about 40mph. You will see the green light by the spoiler button come on when it drops and go off again when it retracts. Not totally disasterous if it doesnt work properly, just an indication that it hasn't been converted properly from kms to miles.

Check the heater blows nice hot air when it is up to temperature. If it doesnt, it could be a problem with the heater matrix, which is a complete nightmare to change. Make sure the a/c works ok as well. You should hear it kick in when you press the a/c button with the engine ticking over.

Be aware that a jap alarm probably isnt recognised as thatcham approved in the UK, and you may well have to fit another approved alarm/immobiliser before you can get comprehensive insurance for the car.

Good luck!

Hi Guys

really appreciate the advice :)

went to have a look at it today and i think im in love :ecstatic:

few pics here http://daman9808.fotopic.net/c576813.html

car is almost standard apart from the rear box and induction kit and it seems that the guy has really looked after it. It has full service history etc. Drives real nice, i didnt think i would like the auto but as some people say it being a fantastic box i think i would have to agree with them :) Its got every toy imaginable, and is like sitting in an aeroplane cock pit lol sooooo many buttons! :woot:

Active spioler comes down when its ment to and aircon etc all works nicely, no smoke too :)

The guy wants £9,500 which i think maybe a fair price, what would you guys say?
