Should have emailed really but I'm at work and won't get to my PC for a while.

Haven't received my order yet, I'm not moaning I know it's still early-ish just wondering if you've got a tracking number or anything for my end?

grr bloody Bax Global. Can you beleive they charged me £60 for getting my exhaust off the aeroplane for me !! It was like a dutch auction or something. He said "There are no charges, I've got it through so that there aren't any charges but there is still a little fee to pay. Is £80 ok?" I was like .. umm well.. errr and he said "ok well how does £70 sound?" and I said well I didn't really want to pay anything and he said ok well I can do it for £60!"

crazy!

yeah well I did wonder if they were trying to have me over. No matter how many times I asked or rephrased the question, he seemed to not give me a straight answer as to what I was paying for.

I would take it up with them TBH . I have never ever had any problems with BAX Global and they have been spot on every time, Clearance/handling charges are at a set figure not "bided" or value related (It's only paperwork) . Items of a larger size are costed on delivery but this will not effect the clerance handling charge until you get to a larger size and a zaust aint one of them. To put you in a ballpark we paid less than that for clearrance and handling on 4 2jz blocks. The only thing which will vary is the damn duty/vat. :swear:

right after i'd spoken to him (this was on the phone, before I went to pick it up from their office) I rang their london office to ask but I didn't know what I was talking about as I hadn't seen any paper work.

the guy said that it was because I'd asked for delivery to my airport instead of to my house. still seems like a lot of money for a $45 exhaust!!

I'm sorry to say this is where they have got you . Whenever getting deliveries get a quote set in stone to your door. When getting Airport only deliveries they "assume" you have your own clearnace broker and arranging pick up . When they phone you and you have not it is a free for all on clearance and delievery I'm affrraid. The main reason is that they are mainly a business delivery merchants. So when Trader arranges delivery to your door it is out of their hands to quote on the uk delivery and they have to abide by the normal clearnce and specific delivery costs ( that trader asked for/quoted for ). When delivery to an airport it has bacicaly arrived at its destination so arrangement from there including clearance is a new contract between you and them ...( trader is now out of the loop ) one of the pit falls I'm affraid.

thanks for that excellent explanation Migster :)

At least I understand it now. My exhaust was still cheap, I just had this funny feeling like they'd had me over or something.

Unfortunately VERY comon practice with some of the not so bigger "name" carriers. But no they have not done you to an extent just took the pi$$ a little as they do all that don't know the practise. next time get it to the door . works out cheaper in the long run
