Probably. My understanding is that the stock amp is 'a bit crap'. Any decent head unit would sound better by bypassing the thing altogether.

 

At this point I will point out however that I know sod all about this subject so you're better off asking someone else. Alternatively, the search button should throw up a few ideas.

It's not that it's crap. I think it's to do with aftermarket headunits are more powerful and do not require the amp which serves to distort the audio signal.

my aftermarket stereo has a lot of interferance (anoying buzzing noise, especially when head lights turned on!?), could this be because it is connected to the amp and shouldn't be? ????

 

anyone got any ideas what this could be??
