Scoboblio
I want to kill a cat.... Not of the moggy variety (although looking at all the muddy footprints on the bonnet I'd really like to); I have a 1st cat which I want to gut out (please don't ask why, it's a long story and would just go round in circles ). Now I know that when cats fail it's sometimes down to some sort of chemical breakdown which causes the insides to collapse - I was told that brake cleaner would do this, but I've tried it and it didn't work I could just chisel it out but there must be an easier way Short of TNT I'm willing to listen to suggestions.... ewizzy
Your only option is to chisel it out mate! Its a ceramic material so, short of the blood of an Alien, its not going to melt HTH Alex
Jake
You know that a gutted cat does not make a good flowing decat pipe, right?
Jspec Germany
I've read on several sites including this one that trying to gut the stock cats is really not the way to go. Spend the money.
Scoboblio
You know that a gutted cat does not make a good flowing decat pipe, right? Yup, I'm aware of that... thanks I've read on several sites including this one that trying to gut the stock cats is really not the way to go. Spend the money. It's NOT a question of money... don't mistake me for a cheap skate because I'm doing things differently - hence the "please don't ask why". TLicense
Your only option is to chisel it out mate! Its a ceramic material so, short of the blood of an Alien, its not going to melt HTH Alex I thought they were metal on the supe?
ewizzy
Well, the outside is metal, I think all Catalyst convertors are a ceramic material with a special coating I dont care anyway, still going to take some SERIOUS acid to shift it
Scoboblio
I think it's ceramic... right, where's my dangerously strong acid and science goggles? Or maybe pouring petrol into it and setting it alight would shift it? So how come the buggers break down and clog up when they get to old / contaminated but you can't destroy them if you want to? *******************e-Whinge******************* p.s, And before someone else comes along to say it.... no, I'm not going to buy a decat pipe, for my own personal reasons.
