Killing a cat....

I want to kill a cat....

Not of the moggy variety (although looking at all the muddy footprints on the bonnet I'd really like to);

I have a 1st cat which I want to gut out (please don't ask why, it's a long story and would just go round in circles :) ).

Now I know that when cats fail it's sometimes down to some sort of chemical breakdown which causes the insides to collapse - I was told that brake cleaner would do this, but I've tried it and it didn't work :(

I could just chisel it out but there must be an easier way :tongue:

Short of TNT I'm willing to listen to suggestions....

You know that a gutted cat does not make a good flowing decat pipe, right?

Yup, I'm aware of that... thanks :)

I've read on several sites including this one that trying to gut the stock cats is really not the way to go. Spend the money.

It's NOT a question of money... don't mistake me for a cheap skate because I'm doing things differently - hence the "please don't ask why".

I think it's ceramic... right, where's my dangerously strong acid and science goggles? :D

Or maybe pouring petrol into it and setting it alight would shift it? :tongue:

So how come the buggers break down and clog up when they get to old / contaminated but you can't destroy them if you want to? :conf:

p.s, And before someone else comes along to say it.... no, I'm not going to buy a decat pipe, for my own personal reasons.
