What's an "Active Spoiler"

It only works manually when you're not moving, or the engine is switched off. You can disable it, but not manually turn it on and off at will.

Mild clarification:

You can only put it down if you're going slower than (I think 55mph) when the engine is off. You are generally stationary when the engine is off (I hope!)

You can 'turn off' the spoiler so that it won't deploy when you reach that.

Although, if you do this after it is already down, then it will go back in, so you can choose to retract it manually. Turning it back on again (while still above 55mph) will put it back down,

unless you are travelling above another speed (I don't know what), at which point it won't retract or extend again until you drop back below that speed.

Confused? You will be.

:help: info overload :)

So i guess some people have wired them up so they can be manually raised or lowered but the norm is as described above....

I can't wait to get my hands on this car..... my last car entered the "Dark Side" with some nice mods, but an NA car just isn't any fun :p

Thanks for the responses people, this club is as friendly as my other one (celica-club), and yes, I have paid my tenner membership :)

Yours must have been rewired then, as that's certainly not standard behaviour.

dont know....

What I do know is that mine doesnt lower automatically at all....

Can anyone point me to a how-to fix rewire this so that the spoiler lowers automatically @ 60mph?
