Standard BOV Vs HKS

I removed my HKS bov and put the standard one back on but without the recirculation pipe. I have found it dumps more freely gear change is smoother and quicker (auto) and it makes a long tussh noise rather than a high pitch sqeak like the HKS. I presume the HKS ones are quite restrictive thats why they make a high pitch sqeak rather than a low tuush like the standard one. Its not as loud but does seem better. Just thought i would tell others my findings! :nyah:

pic if u could.

I have the SARD r2d2 but may go back to the standard one if ur getting good results.

When i ease of the accelerator just before the dump valve goes the damn :complain: red triangles light up on the dash along with the handbrake light. This may be due to unmetered air (from another post)so amlookin to resolve one way or another.

As I've said several times before, IMO the HKS SSQV sounds shite, its best described as a high pitched squeak. The old style Blitz BOV I had was MUCH deeper and nicer sounding.

Imagine that every time you take off even a little bit of throttle someone blows a whistle in your ear - well that’s the HKS for you...

I'm now in looking to go back to a twin stock valve as the HKS one drives me nuts!!

I think the SSQV sounds less like you're showing off than a lot of other BOVs I've heard. I can understand why some people don't like it but the whistle really doesn't bother me... then again maybe it's a lot louder on a BPU, I'm only running about 0.9bar at the best of times!
