hi just messing on car and decided to take air con system out as it was not working, think i took right bits out. tried searching for info about it. i took out aircon rad fan ages ago when fitting fmic. now it was not working i thought strip it out. this is what i have done so far if its any use to anyone.
just followed the aircon hardpipes back and unscrewing them as i went along. 10mm nuts holds the pipes to the aircon pump. traced it back to firewall but not gone into dash side see where they go, its all stripped out to finish job. inside dash behind passenger airbag you can see the air conditioning unit ( big white plastic thing)
on the pump side is it just a matter of unplugging the connectors and taping them up to stop water getting in. found 3 electrical plugs, 2 into the pump itself and 1 plug next the the abs unit i think it is gearbox dip stick area.
i know i could take the pump out but the belt would be way too long then.
just saved a bit more weight. has anybody stripped out there aircon. i know b`have has removed his aircon from his supra. would like to remove the pump if there is a smaller belt or other way to get rid of pump.
does anyone have any diagrams or pics of aircon system from the toyota EPC. there is also an aircon ecu to take out too, think its behind dash next to radio.
