View Full Version : Turbo Selection.
Could someone please explain the differences of the following on turbo kits?
1) Exhaust Wheel Choice: GTQ, GTS
2) A/R Housing choice: .58, .68, .81
If someone could explain what the differences are and what is the best..

Terry S or Usmann are the best to ask but basically the P/GTQ/GTS means the trim of the wheel (exhaust) and the amount of the power it will support (at the cost of lag) , The AR will also effect spool but wrong choice can result in surge or lag , a lot of this can be tuned out with a decent ECU

Dude is pretty much right but you cant eliminate surge by tuning an ECU :). The larger the exhaust AR the more lag and subsequently power they make, too small an exhaust AR and you can get surge, which in very basic terms, is when the engine cant swallow the volume of air you are throwing at it, so it tries to go back through the other way.
