Anyone Bought A Car From Ebay??

as topic says, im not normally a big ebay fan but have been looking threw it recently and have noticed a few supra auto TT going for 6k(2nd one seems pretty good),, ive got cash waiting and tbh its burning a hole in my pocket!!!

was thinking that the buy now button on that 1 is a bit overpriced tho??

also I am missing sumthing?! i thought tt auto's go for 7k + ,,

They are all stupidly cheap and could go for a lot, LOT more on the open market. The layout of the adds also seems very similar to many of the scam auctions recently.

I'd only ever buy a car from ebay if I was able to fully inspect it first. Ask for their phone number, address and a time when you can visit and see if they take you up on it.

I think the prices are about right for 93 cars requiring quick sale, obviously be careful but from a first glance they look ok. Just treat them as you would an ad in the autotrader.

BE VERY VERY CAREFUL. Me and my bro where almost conned out of 5k. It was a Nissan Skyline R34 for sale for 5k. Obviously this couldnt be frowned upon, get it, sell it, huge profit. Luckily, the good old british scepticism prevailed and we looked into it A LOT. Basically they get you to pay via western union or another company like this. They say that the company will hold the money till you've received and inspected the product. When you approve, they release the money. These are Escrow companies. I rang western union and my suspicions were correct. They only transfer money direct. The DO NOT hold money. Make sure the seller agrees to let you view it before buying it. If they say that you cant view it, then obviously walk away.

I bought a car from a trader on ebay before, the car itself ended up being a bone but that is by the by any car you buy can turn out like that after 10k miles with 140k+ on it Thing I would advise though, if you are really serious about it and its not in your area get an RAC or AA inspection done on it for about £100. If they refuse to allow that take the high road.

I bought a £200 Fiesta on eBay, abused it for 18 months then sold it for £400 - chap was only up the road though so we could inspect it in advance.

Just apply the usual caution you would with a private car sale, try to view in advance and then add a bit more caution

The SZ-R (3rd one you've highlighted) is my old car! I lost my supra virginity to that car and sold it to a young guy from cumbrai for £6,250 back in the autumn.

Good luck with your searching - just remember the real expense of running these supercars. Its easy to spend a grand a year on tyres, never mind proper servicing with specialists, heater matrixes and turbos going pop etc etc

I emailed Ebay a few days back asking waht would happen if, for whatever reason, you go to pick up the car and decide, in the end, not to go through with it. I my email I asked specifically about cars but they sent me back a generic reply about having to honour the bid etc etc.

To be honest though, I could put up with negative feedback if it ment not spending several grand on something which wasn't right.
