After a semi long wait I just got my first supra :) Its the silver TT that Gaz from Envy advertised for a customer of him and a friend of mine just drove it over tonight.

Cars looks really good beside a big scratch on the front but will get that sorted asap. The only thing that puts me off is that the brakes are totally shot there is nearly no braking power left and the steering wheel wobbles under hard braking. Just orded some CW fast road pads and bought some new brake fluid. I hope the discs are ok but doesnt look like they could be refurbed (i think skimmed is the english word).

But so far its a really nice car and driving on the "wrong" side isnt really strange after some first tries. Just need to learn the car with all these buttons and the nifty alarm and everything. Also the first automatic car for me after only manual cars.

Nah my mate has a JDM Spec Supra too with nearly shot pads and his brakes 100 times better so I think both it totally down.

Would get Eurospec brakes now but the car has standard wheels and I currently dont have the money for larger wheels as registration will cost me really big bucks. So some CW pads need to do it till the summer.

Brake discs are shot. Old and warped by the sound of it, Get new discs and pads and you will be happy :thanku:

More bad news for me :/

After I discovered that the brakes are totally shot today after another clean up I discovered that it still has japanese tires on it. I thought you have to have DOT legal tires in the UK for MOT? But there are mounted Bridgestone Grid II and Grid III tires on it and they just have an speed index with V which means 240kmh and not more. So I will need new tires all around...

The next thing is that it seems like its loosing a little bit of oil around the are where the cam cover sits on because its pretty dirty there with oil rests and so on.

Next thing is the rear hatch dampers arent strong enough to hold the hatch oben is there a way to adjust them? I couldnt find anything so I think I will need two new ones :/

Need to get new struts for the boot, as for the tyres, it is probably because the J Spec was restricted to 112mph in Japan so has either not been derestricted, or the previous owner never changed the tyres or because he changed them for the same.

As for the brake disks, what would happen if you had them fitted when you bought the car? Before it was taken to Germany?

Nah car is derestricted as I bought it from someone in the uk.

There was just a little talk that the car needs new pads soon but its not only pads the discs are totally down and what not. The whole car wopples like crazy when you brake. So I just orded discs&pads and will fit them soon.
