I need your help (and your gauge cluster)

Would any facelift TT owners be willing to lend me an afternoon of their time and their gauge cluster so I can test a theory as to what is bringing up my ‘error 42’ death code flashing?

I believe it’s just soldering going dry inside the clocks that’s preventing the ECU from receiving a signal from the odometer, but ideally want to know for certain before I go out and buy a new cluster/send mine off to be fixed.

Will pay in beers.

Also, before everyone gives their 10p’s worth about other possible fixes, yes I’ve already removed the speed converter, so my car reads in kms, and yes I’ve already tried the splicing of the pink and blue/red wires fix. Neither has worked.
