View Full Version : Beginner question: who are the experts?
I've been wondering this a while: if I want to get my Supra checked over by an expert on Supras (rather than Toyota lol) who are the people to see on here?
I'm aware of a few in passing but is there a sticky somewhere that lists the people who are Supra experts in particular so I could see who's nearest to me?
Cheers!

This was something I tried to kick off last year but everyone just posted useless comments so I gave up with it!
I was thinking about a GB map with numbered red dots on it. Underneath you had the name and contact details of the garage or trader...

I cannot see that working as you are bound to get some people thinking X garage were great whilst others thought they were crap.
I think that it's a great I idea. We could give the garages feedback type ratings. Somehow.

And how would you decide if it is a good garage or not when one member says his level of service was shit and anolther says it was great?
A bit like you do on ebay... see what the majority say. I'm not saying it would be a particularly easy thing to set up though!

Dont get me wrong, I am not against the idea just unsure how practical it is.
I recall several instances in the past where a member had a right go about a trader who, on the face of it, had behaved very badly. But when the trader came on to give his side of the story, it wasny quite so cut and dried.
Very difficult IMHO.
i will add some useful advice ice man
i think slow dog at miami gt is good maybe the closest to you not sure he is in basingstoke.
stop bitching you lot and give the guy some advice. :D :D
I personally think doing the rating system is a good idea in theory - but I doubt it would work in practice .. and no doubt open up a whole can of worms!
I think the only way that idea would work would simply be show the contact details & location. Then make up your own mind by using the "Search" button.
But off the top of my head.
Slowdog, Dude, Chris Wilson
I meant more the guys who deal (more or less) exclusively with Supras as opposed to general Jap car garages. But yeah it could be made up as a ratings type thing. As this is a pay-to-play club that would hopefully rule out people rating things badly on purpose?
Would I be correct in saying that this version of VBB supports "vendor ratings" for members?
I think AV Forums uses them.

I haven't been on the Supra scene for very long, but I was very impressed with Paul at MiamiGT. I learned a lot in the short time my car was there. Will definitely be going back.

Yep, another vote for Chris Wilson
Not a very technical question though ;)
I'd vote for Paul whiffin, he worked on my car and did a very good job and was very friendly.
