I am fitting another auto cooler in series to the stock rad system. Anyone know the direction of flow/return through the rad? I have a feeling that the offside pipe is flow and nearside is return but can someone confirm this for sure?
Many thanks, Charlie.

I've searched but no luck .I no it dose not matter that much how its plumed up . But my cooler is on its side with top and bottom out let's and i wont the flow to go in the top and return in the bottom :p. Guess ill just have to run it and see which is the flow .

from memory if you look at the side of the gearbox you will see the feed and return pipes to the cooler the one that is furthest away ie the one nearest the back of the car is the feed

Why bother? You live in England, not Texas :D
I just plumbed one in because my new radiator doesn't have the oil cooler and it was a pain in the ass lol

pull both pipes off the rad cooler start engine and check which pipe is pumping oil out:)

single turbo and 450+ bhp on an auto is going to put a lot of strain on the box so keeping the oil cooler will save it from a lot of unwanted stress on the box . plus i got Alli rad so need one to .

ambient air temp (as in Texas) has absolutely nothing to do with how fast an auto/torque converter builds heat, i would hazard a guess you do not have a temperature gauge on your transmission and possibly no cooling fan either for when you are stuck in traffic, you will be waving bye bye to your auto box sooner rather than later, i would suggest you do a search on transmission coolers, cooked box, etc

I have two oil coolers fitted on top of the rad cooler due to pi3800 converter temps normally 50/60 degs and had it go up to 85/90 at santa pod. i also change my fluid along with the engine oil every 4000miles:)
