Im interested in fitting a dawes device manual boost controller to my J-Spec TT, to basically raise the boost to about 1 bar and help with the turbo spool up time. Info on the dawes device is here:

http://www.gb-ent.com/products/boost.htm

my question is can this be fitted to a tt?where would you install it?any pics would be of great help as I dont quite know where everything is on the supra engine bay like i did with my old S14 :)

I personally wouldn't use such a crude device on the supra myself, used one on my scooby, but I had no inclination to put one on my old supra or my GTR, did it properly with an electronic controller when I had the cash to buy one!

dawes devices were excellent on my old S14, very very quick turbo spool up time and rock solid boost that never spiked :)
I want to try one on my supra - so can you fit one in the same place a bleeder valve would go?

I got the occasional spike on my scoob, in the really cold weather, and they are well known that the spring goes "off" over time, on a high end engine like the supra's I wouldn't myself. They are ok for what they are, nothing more.

Your choice though!

yep, but because im running two cats and no FCD, fuel cut should stop me from doing any damage shouldnt it??

after all thats whats the factory fuel cut is for

My bro has a 200sx and it works fine. Stable boost etc. I however use a bleed valve.

The FCD will protect your engine but be careful as the EGT can get hot when running higher boost with cats in. If your not doing any track days etc, just street stuff where you not on boost for long I would think you would be OK.
