Manual conversion options

Hello.

Looking at going manual over the winter. Just trying to decide which way to go and after some opinions.

Currently have a tiptronic with open small case diff running bpu. Looking to increase the power next year to a max of mid 600bhp.

I have all the pedals, gear surround and master cylinder.

Can't really give a reason why but only want a 6 speed. Not too sure why now though thinking about it.

First option is I would love a v160/161. Main concerns are only 2nd hand gearboxes. That are mostly unknown and if it needs a rebuild you can be looking at 1000s.

Which led me onto option 2.

The t56 magnum. Everything would be brand new and parts available. Cost I worked out was around the 8k mark though. But that was for new box. Conversion kit. Clutch. Flywheel. Custom prop. And other little hardware bits.

Next option is a BMW gearbox. Never liked the idea of putting one in a supra lol just because. But pricewise seem a good option. Using the E46 M3 box or some people using a 530d box. Can find info about most stuff apart from the transmission mount. Guessing that would have to be fabricated up along with a custom prop.

And last option is the cd009 gearbox. Heard good things about them. But don't like the idea of cutting/welding bellhousings or hammering out the trans tunnel.

I have a E46 M3 box going in very soon, currently on my na/5 which is being turbo’d in spring and will be running 650bhp. Once it’s in you could have a go in it?

I have another TT auto and if I was tuning that I’d go built auto.. but keeping it stock and will be off to the US when it turns 25
