Repaired imports??

Looking at japan auction houses and there are alot of 'R' rated repaired cars available. Whats peoples opinions on importing a repaired supra? Has anyone on here done it? Does it show as repaired on the V5 when registered here? TIA guys

Like most accident cars it would be nice to know what damage they sustained to get the rating.

If it's like here then you could easily buy a damaged repaired car with no cat C or D that's worse than a cat C or D car, if you see what I mean? If a new (expensive) car is damaged and just repaired that same car when it's 10 years old and low value would be written off with far less damage. I'd try and find out exactly how they get the 'R' rating?

I think I'd be inclined to stick to a proper 3.0-4.0 rated car out there, or consider hounding uk owners to sell theirs, then at least you can see and 100% inspect everything?

R doesn't mean repaired, it can also mean modified or other wise different from stock.

Also unless its had a big whack can you really tell any import has been repaired?
