I won't write an essay, question in the topic. More questions

1. Do you find it hard not to modify it?

2. Does the standard exhaust sound nice enough?

3. How is reliability? I don't like the idea of long term sequential turbos it is bound to be bad for the first turbo, no?

The older I have got the more I love the shape of the Mk4. The less I am into modifying also.

Thanks!

I own a Auto which I turned BPU myself

1. Do you find it hard not to modify it?

Depending on the modification depends on its ease

2. Does the standard exhaust sound nice enough?

Never had the standard exhaust so can't comment

I have done 135k miles one what I believe to be the standard turbos, I would say if you run them at 1bar of boost then I don't think it will have too long term effect.

1) I personally didn't, only had a bpu on my latest (10th one)

2) The standard exhaust has close to no sound on a TT! My second one I left idling outside for over an hour after I 'forgot' it was running!!

3) touch wood never had an issue with turbo's on any of mine (and they are amazingly reliable really), I know what you mean re the sequentials and I believe the first is likely to wear first (the second is more likely to die catastrophically at bpu ++)

Sequential isnt bad for the first turbo per se, but naturally it does the most work, so is likely to be the first to fail. But its no different to any car which has one turbo.

I've owned my TT6 for very nearly 20 years and changed nothing on it bar swapping out the yellow side indicators for clear which I think look better on a white car. I have kept hold of the yellow lenses so nothing lost. As others say, the stock 3 box exhaust is very quiet compared to a single box cat back option, mine came with a Blitz Nur on it and presently has a HKS but I did have 2 stock exhaust systems in-between.

Reliability is legendary if the car has been maintained to a suitable level. The only non service items changed on my car have been a a/c condenser that was holed and the FMIC due to rotten fins. The turbos have been good for 110k miles so far and thankfully show no signs of getting tired.

Modding a Supra was all the rage and an easy investment decision to make when the cars could be picked up for under £5k. Now with TT6's edging £20k its a tougher call as mods add little or nothing to the cars value and will potentially restrict its appeal to a more specialist market. if I've not uprated or upgraded or put my individual mark on the car in 20 years of ownership then I don't think I'll be starting now. It hasn't even been treated to a respray.

Only mods I have on my TT6’s engine is a HKS bov.

I go up and down like a roller coaster, one month I think I want to go bpu and the other months I want to keep it stock so it’s as Toyota intended.

I have owned it over 3 years now and it hasn’t had any other mods apart from the bov as mentioned.

I had a standard exhaust on my first Supra, I personally found it far too quiet. I currently have a Blitz Nur Spec R on my current Supra, I fell more in love with the car once it was fitted. It makes it more fun and exciting to drive when you can hear it growl

No turbo problems as of yet, but I have only owned it for 3 years :D
