Rebirth Toyota Supra

At Titan Motorsports we’ve been building, modifying, and creating parts for the Toyota Supra for nearly 20 years. With this large timespan we’ve cultivated the most knowledgeable staff in the industry for the Toyota Supra / 2JZ platform. We continue to have cars built for the first time and then come back years later for updates or refresh’s. We wanted to show our fanbase what a transformation can look like from an old build to new. These projects we’ve found often are a mixture between the classic Supra modifications and updated technology which go hand in hand in building a retro-mod-Supra.

This specific Supra was built first at Titan Motorsports over 10 years ago, and subsequently found a new home with a new Titan customer. Titan was even able to broker the transaction for both parties. Then came the hard work, the rebirth of a classic well-built platform. As you can see there were the classic alphabet soup modifications, VPC, SAFC, BCC, Profec-B. While these were great items for their time that allowed the Supra to be modified from its stock form into a beast they are certainly out of date with today’s new technology. Not to mention, the old school electronics take up lots of interior room.

In came a Haltech P2000 Stand Alone, new Titan turbo kit with a Precision 6766, Injector Dynamics 1000cc injectors. With the new technology of today, it’s easier than ever to make 600hp, and that 600hp is very drivable vs the old aerodynamic turbo’s of yesterday which were big and laggy. This has come from years of development from manufactures, and we’ve been fortunate to be a part of the development and growth of our sport. Today’s 1000cc injectors are more controllable, balanced and make for a better driving experience than the old 720cc injectors. With the engine modifications picked, the engine got a color re-do to the gloss black.

Then came the suspension, wheels, and tires. The old 18” wheels are gone, and the car is now outfitted with new Gloss Black Forgelines with an aggressive fitment in 19”. Brembo 15” front brakes replace the stock 4 piston 12.6” rotors which for its time were large, but now with today’s power increases and handling modifications the Brembo brakes make a big difference in driveability and braking. The rear’s were done to match in 14” 4-piston fare.

To stiffen up the chassis a Titan Bolt in Rollbar was installed, custom finished in white to match the vehicle. To round out the interior a pair of Sparco seats with Titan brackets were put in place. The final classic modification was an original TRD steering wheel that Titan had to source from its numerous contacts. A very rare and hard to find piece.

I hope you enjoy the pictures and update, and if you have any questions or are looking to do the same thing to your car we will be happy to assist at Titan Motorsports.
