The street eliminator series at santa pod are all legal cars with mot's and they all have to participate in a road drive as part of qualifying, ive seen plenty of those with chutes on the back, obviously they switch to treaded type street radials for the road drive as the slicks arent road legal

Gary Gooding who races in a team called "Team Extreme Racing" has a drag supra which he runs in a class called street eliminator which is a class purely for road legal drag cars. Gary's supra is a 3.4ltr 2JZ with a 95mm turbo, makes around 1700bhp on E85 I think, but he's yet to turn the boost up. His best time on a street radial tyre is 7.7@180mph I think, I've spoken to Gary a handful of times and he's a great genuine guy. Search team extreme racing on YouTube and you'll find a few videos

Iv got road legal drag radials that I intend to use on the road for normal driving (aswell as my 18's il swap between the 2 sets depending where im going and weather etc...) so is legal to use those on the road but not sure about having a parachute fitted iv never looked into that

Sounds good mate, what street legal drag radials do you have? And how much were they?

Thanks Chris good to know, I've heard about the parachutes that if you take the actual parachute out of the bag, it becomes legal as you could do an accidentally deployment of the parachute, and if that happened on the m25 in rush hour I'm sure it would be catastrophic!
