You need to state what size the companion flange is on your diff mate.
If you measure the bolt hole centres of the 3 bolts on the flange, it'll either be 90mm or 100mm

Its a ukspec tt if That helps? Thx

My jspec tt had the bigger companion flange on the diff.
The w58 prop won't bolt up to it, as the prop will have 90mm hole centres, whereas my diff had 100mm.

To make my manual conversion work, I had a custom prop made.

You could change the flange on your diff, to suit a w58 prop, but the diff needs to be stripped down and the crush sleeve replacing, to set it up correctly.

But, you won't know until you check what's on your car

Isnt IT possible to use only the front part of the prop?

Nope, as the tt auto and 6sp props are sliding, rather than a bolted flange.

Thank you! Mk4Gaz for all your useful info;)

You're welcome. It's very easy to check what one you have, my money will be on the bigger type, which means you'll either have to change the companion flange on your diff (not easy if you don't know what you're doing), or use the w58 prop you source, and have both props cut, and your original end welded on.

Think i will go for your last option;) Do you remember how much you paid to have one made?

I took all the necessary measurements, and took both props to a local engineering company - who I happen to be friendly with.
The guy charged me 50 to cut both props, sleeve the two parts back together, fully weld it, and check it for balance

That was a steal

It pays to be friends with the right people 😉

W58 prop can fit the larger diff flange, it just takes some persuading to get the rubber coupling on the prop

Plenty of people have done it and is how i run mine as my R154 uses a w58 rear section and is bolted up to an a02b diff which has the larger flange

I am confused:rolleyes:

Personally I wouldn't want to be stretching the diff coupling that much, to make it work.

Being honest, I can't see it's possible, but if that's how yours is, then fair enough
