Life of F1s

Im currenlty in desperate need for a new set of rear tyres for my Supra as the crap jap 'trampiro' tyres I have on mine at the moment have absoloutely no grip, fishtail in the dry when booted and the car feels very twitchy at high speed cornering

Im considering a pair of goodyear F1s on the rears in 275/35/18, my question is how long can I expect these tyres to last?? I've seen 6k miles mentioned a lot, but my use would be 300 miles a week mild a-road driving mixed with a few spirited blasts every now and again. So how long could i expect them to last?? 300 quid every 6k miles is very very very expensive unfortunately!!

especially with summer coming up, burning more rubber probably about 4-6k miles ?

no chance of managing more than 6k miles out of these things??? ideally i'd be looking for tyres to last 12-15k miles if thats possibe without driving the tt like a granny

They last very well actually So well infact, I gave my brother my old set when I went up to 18's, I put 7k miles on them and he put at loads more. They do wear well unless your geomery is screwed of course

I've always known what a good tyre the F1 is, but my mate who drives an NA Supra has put a set of F1s on replacing the crap jap tyres that came over with his, and he says that they have completely transformed the car and he can actually enjoy the car instead of fishtailing all over the shop

ive had mine on for about 7K miles now, still plenty of grip. on average i probably do about 250 miles a week, only struggled for grip when i got caught in 3 inches of snow over the Yorkshire dales, that was only for a few secs (in which the back end was going wherever it wanted to, not me!). think at this rate theyve got another few thousand in them

as im on a budget i'll probably only be replacing the rears, is it okay to leave the crappy fronts on till funds allow some F1s on the front too?

Yeah, you just need pairs, either pairs of fronts or rears

All round would be cool, but you dont NEED to.

i managed 12k but that was in stock 17" size

My geometry is spot on and I get about 5-6k tops out of rear tyres and about 8k out the front. F1's all round. But then I can't seem to keep my foot of the gas. I could get alot more miles out of them if I calmed down a little, but its not in my nature

I have F1s all round in stock 17" sizes on my NA. The fronts lasted nearly 33000 miles (I sh*t you not). I've only just fitted F1s to the rear but I'm hoping for similar wear to my old Yoko AVS - 12500 miles.

it`s no good having loads of grip at the rear as the front end will have a mind of it`s own.

With a rear wheel monster like the Supra I personally wouldnt take a chance....I would change all four..

I got 6k out of a pair of Toyos, had a new set of Kumho and RLTC fitted, got about 6mm tred left and I've done 11k on them.
