TRD3000GT
Anyone know anything about this. Getting my new rims this week and I have to either roll the rear arches or cut the lip inside ? Cutting the lip sounds safer beleive it or not! But I was wondering if anyone had any experience!
Pete
Sounds far too scarey for me to consider! I think you can get them professionally rolled by tuning companies. That would probably be my first choice before I fired up the angle grinder.
TRD3000GT
Its not the actual ARCH but the inner lip. If you feel the arch there is a 30-40 mm lip that needs to be cut down... Im not to worried about it.. :-) As long as I can get it sorted out. Cutting is easier than rolling apparently supra rear arches are a bitch! Guest Terry S
Rolling can damage the paint but also can be a much neater job. Dude has a proper rolling tool roller that he's borrowed from Mig, so give him a shout.
TRD3000GT
Will do. I will probably need to get this done before next week. GVN have a sort of mini craft / Dremel tool with a metal cutting blade that they make custom pannels with so Im not worried about the work looking untidy as they custom make pannels! Just the question is do I rollor cut? Im thinkinking cutting is a safer option to avoid cracking or lifting the paint of the rear arch sections. I dont want to have to get the whole arch section, roof etc repainted ! That would suck.... As I DONT like blow in marks
Pete
Cutting it is then! I'm sure it'll be fine if you've got a pro on the case.
absz
the lip on the inside of the arch is there to give the panel strength. and stops flexing. i would have it rolled.
