Brian888
Ok so car had been overboosting. All usual stuff checked and seems ok then found the wastegate vsv solenoid isn't working at all. It's bypassed and is now holding around 1-1.1 bar as before was 1.3 and upwards in high gear. Please excuse my ignorance in this area but is it safe enough to now leave as is or best to replace the valve? And will replacing the valve increase the boost? Car is jspec auto bpu. Thanks. Swampy442
Depends on what you want really. Are you happy at 1.1bar? But any way you look at it the valve is broken and needs to be replaced.
Brian888
Yea 1.1 is more than enough. I was just curious as to how it's working ok now without the valve in place.
Swampy442
Its a simple 1 way valve, voltage is applied and it closes to open the wastegate, the who's system is like that.
