Somehow, call me heavy handed (not a word Flip ;)) but I've managed to snap the hinge on the tailgate clean in half.

Its drivers site one.

I think its rivetted on... but has anyone removed the tailgate before or the actual hinge before?

Any ideas?

I had the hinge on my mkiii snap due to it being coroded, took it to Toyota and had it replaced under the body work warranty, as yours is UK spec might be worth a go.

If its the same as the mkiii then its an easy swap, just make sure the hatch lines up properly afterwards.

How long is the bodywork warranty branners?

My car was registered 01.07.94?

It was 6 years on my mkiii, I just got in at the very end of the warranty, but the funny thing was they had a mkiii in the week before which had exactly the same problem.

Never heard of a mkiv doing it though, but its got to be worth trying it on with the dealer.

Its 6 years on the MKIV according to Parkers too...

Anyone else have have experience with this or have a part number for the bit?
