Hi all. I have an electrical issue so was wondering if anyone can advise.

Alarm is not getting power

Drivers Window wont go up

Central locking not working

3 dash lights 1. Battery, 2.Rear light warning 3. Cat temp warning

Thanks

Paul

SOLVED: Main fuse went at the side (the big amp one) in the engine bay fuse box.

Electric window switch gone faulty is a coincidence, better start the hunt.

Doesn't sound like just alternator to me, I don't see how that would affect window operation. It could be an alternator / crank pulley issue combined with something else though.

First thing to do is check all the fuses, engine bay and drivers footwell, and go from there.

Why did the fuse go?

And how do you know the window switch is at fault?

Perhaps some wiring has become exposed and caused a short? Unlikely, but worth having a poke around if you're removing the doorcard anyway.

Hi mate, fuse went because the alternator power cable touched an earth I believe.

I have already removed the door car and the Alarm guys used a tool to reverse the power on the cable going into the door card switch and the window went up when we clicked the window to go down. The switch does feel a little loose when using the up switch. So its deffo the switch.

Its nice when people update the threads thanks

No problem, I like to update encase someone googles it in future :)
