Why do people prefer glass headlights?

Just curious. I'll be looking to buy a set soon, I was just wondering why people like them so much over other styles.

I prefer a clean lens personally.

I can only think that they do not go dull.

Personal opinion, for me, I don't like them, facelift ones look far better in my eyes.

I love them one for one reason and one reason only, facelifts never look great unless they are brand new imo. They have all dulled so much, UK specs you never have to worry about that. I do however agree that face lifts shape is nicer and on some colours the dark insert is better too.

de-lined lenses look the best imo but you have the risk of them misting having been split

I'd say that people who prefer UK to facelift are the minority. While I would agree that some cars do suit the UK lights, on the whole the facelifts generally look better, and give the car a far more modern look.

I prefer uk specs because glass is superior. Doesn't fade which for me makes them the best.

I prefer UK headlights.

Think they look slightly better, but visibility for me is better being glass than plastic.

In person, the facelifts looked much better.

Oh yea I've never noticed that before!

They are actually sleeker. Shame they didn't make them in glass.

I polished my facelifts up last summer and they were back to cloudy within 6 months. It sucks having plastic lenses even if the inserts look 10x better.

Ta very much Not seen a side by side comparison before, I didn't think the difference would be that much. Do you have anymore images of the lights? If you do close up would be perfect

Facelift looks much better, especially on a silver supra!!! Too much chrome/silver going on with UK glass hence I sold mine.

To be fair my facelifts are near mint still but car is dry stored in garage. It must be the sun that causes the discolouration surely?

Ive put UKs on both my Supras.

I think they look so much better. In fact for my current car I swapped the facelifts for the UKs. It was the first job I did when I picked the car up 6 years ago. Uks suit the RSP colour as well (in my eyes)

Exactly what I did, removed the facelifts and fitted my UK's

I get why people install UK spec lights, but the facelift lights are much better looking in my opinion. Shame Toyota never made facelift lights in glass.

The reason the plastic clouds is UV damage, you have to use a uv gel after polishing so they will stay that way.

I took a close up comparison pic once, I know I've posted on here before. I'll dig it out at some point.
