Parts from Toyota

Evening all,

Was on the fone to my mate who works at Toyota. He services my car and Iv been using him to order parts but he foned me yesterday to say about the delay on a lot of parts, i.e end of April in this case. I only ordered some new buttons for heater controls and number plate holder.

Is this a common occurrence now with Toyota branches in general? Or on certain parts? He also mentioned about another supra owner waiting a long long time for uk spec parts but unsure exactly what parts he was referring to.

It depenss on the part, some stuff they have on shelf i.e the oil filter I picked up today, fuel filter would be 2 days. But exhaust centre section - £430 plus wait for delivery in April!!

If your prepared to buy used then stock exhaust sections come up regularly in the for sale section for a lot less than that

Yeah I'd imagine it would depend on parts but 2+ months seems excessive.

Have waited a few weeks for N/A anti roll bar bushes from Japan, but just a few days for radiator rubber mounts. Depends on the part as mentioned. 2+ months is excessive.

I've been ordering a fair few parts over the last couple of years. Generally most parts take about a week but I have had to wait in excess of 6 weeks for the odd part.

Last part that took some time to arrive was a factory SMIC duct.

I ordered heater buttons and a load of other bits from amayama and although Japan side they had everything ready within two weeks and posted out, I'm now at three weeks this side with customs bs. Seems to be hit and miss with some parts.

Yeah seems to be hit and miss. Maybe I will just order them and hopefully they arrive sooner.
