How Loud are Single Supras?

I have just been chatting to Paul_Y3K on MSN and he is a little worried about his T61 equipped car being too loud to pass the sound test for Japfest..

i would like to go single in the next couple of years but i want to make sure i can still get on track days because i really love track driving.

so are Single equipped cars much louder than say a BPU one? is it possible to build a 500ish bhp car thats still track noise limit friendly?

Lol - hence my post in technical about quiet ones...

I'd say they are louder, well they should be as there is less equipment in the way to baffle the exhaust.

I'd like to do a Db test and see if it's too loud now, as I've said in my technical thread I'm considering having an extra baffle custom added to my NUR...without impeading the flow of gas.

Just to add on boost they will be very loud as lots of exhaust goes out the external wastegate (1ft of unsilenced pipe)...but Db tests for events are never conducted whilst moving...so the wastegate will always be shut.

My G/F says my car sounds like a Jet engine too...unfortunatly not in an enthusiastic way :(
