NA to TT6

Hi all,

I have used the search button and see a few years ago this has been covered to death.

So why am i still posting about the same thing? Simply because a fair few threads were 4/5 years ago and prices have changed drastically as well as VAT.

So my question.

Im wanting to know what the cost would be to convert my na auto to a tt6.

I have £11,000 to spend and just bought a lovely rare Anthracite aerotop supra.

V160 with conversion kit seems to retail at £5k

Gte engines seem to go for £3,750 with all bits.

So anything else that would be needed instantly and what would labour be on the conversion itself.

Dont want to stick money on credit card so want to make sure when i start i have enough money to finish it.

Thanks in advance all!

The problem you have is finding good condition 20 year old used engines and gearboxes.

IMO it's the absolute worst time to be trying this sort of thing, parts seem to be demanding top money despite/regardless of their age or condition. Best way would be buying a whole tt6 for £9-10k then selling anything left, but those are few and far between and you'd have to risk at least a holding deposit before you got to test the drivetrain?

sadly I agree with its going to be a challenge but the prices tt6s are fetching atm it would be even harder to find a cheap one with a sound engine and gearbox. Sadly I also do not have space to be able to buy another car let alone strip it.
