Adjusting Boot Catch?

Hey all.

I have a creaking boot. Ive replaced the rubbers and its new shocks.

I read on a thread of which i cant find now that the boot catch needs a adjusting when new rubbers go on.

I had a look at my catch tonight and there is no adjustment at all. Just bolts directly onto the body.

Can any one shed some light?

Thanks

I've also thought my boot hatch needed some adjustment, i think it looks like it's open when it's closed.

I think most of the adjustment is done on the latch which is attached to the car body (not the boot lid) however, the screws are countersunk so it just relocates to where it wants anyway.

The manual does show adjustment though, so i didn't get it either.

It seems like you need to swap to a none-centring bolt also.

Good info. I had the same issue on mine, but when I went to adjust the boot lid latch I couldn't, due to the self centering nuts.

My thought was that there must be an underlying cause, likely wear on the latch and mechanism itself. However on inspection the latch itself looked in very good order.
