and it drove like a dream up the A10, A507, A1, A14 and A45 back to Norfampton from Cheshunt (if anyone saw):

Its a Gunmetal grey 6spd one with very clean stock alloys, very minor scratches and a crack on front bumper this long: ___ engine clean and did not rattle, not that bad for a 1996 model (easily repaired)

My mate drove it back as i had me golf and he said that at 4000 revs the car kicked on alot but its defo not TT so are N/A like this or is their something else which could do this apart from a turbo, its just that it surprised him...

Been delimited cuz he went upto 120 to get up a red bmw who'd got right up me arse for some reason....he went right up behind em and put them in their place, class moment.

It's got 16" Contisport tyres with 6ml tread all round but their all 225/45/16 rears not wider, dont matter as alloys will be added

Luckily i have the black carpet inside along with black mats which have 'suprasport' in silver on em.

Mate reckons although its an SZ-R it defo has more kick than a regular N/A ?

Be welcome to any ideas as to why ? He specialises in M3, M5's, Skylines.

paid £8400 for it in total

BY THE WAY A BRAND NEW BLACK MURCEALAGO (NOT SURE ON SPELLING)

WENT PASSED AS LIKE IVE NEVER SEEN A CAR BEFORE, WE WERE DOING A TON AND IT JUST WHIZZED PAST AND WAS OUT OF SIGHT WITHIN 20 SECS, MUST HAVE BEEN DOIN 180MPH.....SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME THOUGH.

My NA has a surge around these revs too. I'm guessing, but it could be due to the way the engine changes the intake path. At higher revs there are valves which open in the manifold to change the resonance of the intake.

My Mazda MX-3 V6 used to do this, it had a couple of points where the length of the intake changed, and you could feel both of them as you went up the revs.

SZ are NA and not TT.

If it is a late 96 then perhaps it could be a VVTI (it will say this on the engine cam cover).

Never driven a NA supra before so cant comment on the kick.

I was always under the impression that getting a kick from driving a NA was unheard off :D

Guest slow dog

the only way you can get a kick out of an na is to do what i did and put 100shot of gas on...

and there is one butterfly in the inlet which closes at 4000 rpm to create less

turbulance in the manifold so you get faster ir flow to the chambers

its not a big kick but you can feel it

not as much as when you hit the gas lol

Guest Rays the roof

NA's are very good 4K-5.5K and you do feel a kick as you hit this rev range.

Auto trick is to cruise at 80mph (on the track of course) and flick the OD button as you smack your right foot to the floor! I know still not the torque and throw back of our TT brother, but still very good fun!!
