It's been clear and dry all day so thought it a good idea to go for a drive now I've finally got some time off work. Out to the car, happily take a seat then all I get if this.

Unlucky, I made it out with mine for a bit today, just before the heavens opened! I think it'll be soon time to put her away for winter.

I also learned this lesson the hard way. There's a space at the side of the spare wheel which is perfect for a set of jump leads

I have had the same battery for 10 years now, always take the Neg off if im not going to use it for a while then every few months put it on charge

OK so I caved. Nipped to local shop and splashed out on some el cheapo jump leads (a whole £7.99 don't ya know).

Have the CTEK also so the ECU doesn't have to relearn every time the car is garaged for long periods. I have the little plug that comes with it permanently wired under the bonnet. To charge the battery is as simple as plugging a USB stick in with that there. Excellent bit of kit.

Ctek's are great. I had mine on charge whilst it was outside via a decent extension lead and a tupperware box under the car. Never let me down once.

Just remember to remove it before you drive off.
