Track Day Exhausts

Hi

Right I've decided I need to get my car sorted for future track days so the Veilside TI exhaust I have has to go, it's just too loud and wouldn't pass the static test with the bung in at 4K rpm! Ideally I'm looking for a decent non-restrictive exhaust which is reasonably quiet but which can be modified with a flap/valve to a diverted pipe for off-track loudness.

Any ideas on what would work? Appreciate there may quite a bit of fabrication involved too, anyone recommend any specialist custom exhaust companies ?

Cheers

Greg:)

I have the Veilside Ti and have done tracks days in the UK without the bung.. Bedford was close to the limit and well inside with the bung.. I still have the cats in so I'm surprised the bung didnt help you, what levels were you getting?

A single with no cats on a Veilside Ti sounds insane, I use to really like mine but ended up swapping to a Tannabe to make it trackday happy :(

I am guessing your cats are helping keep it down.

That's a shame. Damn NIMBYs

LOL yes, it was borderline with cats in, some of the tracks are very boring/restrictive! I managed to do a couple of track days at Bedford with the bung out, it was a close call though.

Last night in the pub I heard about how well you did in the end at driving on the trackday! Who would have thought it! Lol Well done mate

Haha thanks mate. 2nd and 3rd runs I got the hang of the lines and James' car which is insane. It's so much lighter and nimble. Maybe I should start stripping mine out!

Hi

Just wondering what route you went down as I'm aiming to do a few track days this year and need a new exhaust.

Also have open waste gate will that be an issue?

/QUOTE]

No progress sadly mate, the devils noise is too addictive :) Open wastegate is definitely an issue!

Im sure it was mentioned in another thread that tracks have a limited number of days per year restriction free?

If thats all that stands between you and a few laps, book yourself onto one.

They are very few and far between these days.
