What colour shall I do my brake calipers?

Hey everyone

My UK brakes need a refresh, the fronts have lost all their black paint. I am going to repaint them and get the Supra stickers off ebay. I just cannot make my mind up on the colour. I have put a poll up to see what you guys think. I am thinking about gold or yellow mostly, not that keen on red. I like the idea of blue calipers on the blue car, like a focus RS, but it will obviously be a completely different blue so may not work.

This is my car however I am pretty set on changing the wheels to a different set in silver fairly soon. I am probably just going to use Hammerite smooth to do the calipers at home.

Well the back ones are black and the remaining paint on the fronts is black so I'm assuming uk brakes are black with white stickers from Toyota. Green could look a bit ott on my car.

with black wheels its gold or red

I would go with black calipers and some new supra decals.

Gold all day long! Unless you plan on some gold wheels in the future, in which case I'd go black.

Red for me!

Charcoal grey. Red is too common.

Red with Supra decals from me - I love bright brake calipers, always have.

Especially with black wheels and blue body - will make the car really stand out a bit.

But then again I love it when drift cars have mismatched colour wheels so I don't think im the best style advice out there

I'm doing my rear JSPEC calipers Royal Purple to match my D2 front calipers. Not an exact match but trying to keep the theme the same!

I done mine last weekend as I have gold wheels I done them smooth hamerite black with white decals and was really pleased with the result,sorry about the photo but it's a rubbish camera on this tablet!

If the wheels were staying black it'd be blue for me like so...

Since you're changing to silver though, i voted standard black.

Black caliper, new Supra decals. If you wanted to spend some more you could always rebuild them with Chris Wilson's upgraded parts.

Intersting results so far, seems my choice of yellow is not that popular. Has anyone got any pics of gold ones they have done?

I rebuilt my UK set up a couple of months ago with new seals, Chris Wilson stainless steel Pistons, pins etc and ended up choosing to go with gunmetal.

I used Foliatec Carbon grey, very easy to use and came out very well IMO. Just make sure they are prepped nice and smooth as the paint is thin when mixed with the hardener. Also have a lot of brake cleaner on hand to clean them throughly.

Blue car, black wheels - I would go for yellow

Black wouldn't show with black wheels, red would clash, blue would have to be a dark blue and gold would just look tacky

Split and rebuilt with CW stainless pistons and pins etc then powdercoated Gold..

I quite like the gold actually LOL

Pretty easy to do but if you split them you'll need the seals that fit between the two halves, they fit where

the light blue arrows point too, CW also supplies those along with the other parts

Removing and fitting the pistons and piston seals is easy enough, pump the old pistons

out while there still fitted to the car, maybe get some piston pliers that fit inside the piston

which will help you if any are stuck, especially if you dont want to split the calipers

I did email Chris but not heard back yet. I might aswell get the calipers powder coated if I'm going to rebuild them. Even more colour choices!!

I'm still leaning towards gold or yellow with silver wheels but appreciate the advice so far.
