Filthy Supe transformed

I've had my Supra since 2002, he's my absolute pride and joy but he's taken a bit of back seat for a few years whilst we've renovated our house. This year though has been a year of treats for him, sorted out a lot of niggles, tidied up some paint work and re painted the calipers. He looked okay, but some things were still lacking so I decided to invest in some much needed detailing. I cannot believe what they have managed to do with him, despite only getting him when he was 4 he's never ever looked this good :) Just wanted to share as I'm chuffed to pieces with the result

How much did the detail cost if you don't mind me asking ? And where did you get it done ? Pm me if you like.

A bit far from you but it was in Essex, they took two weeks on him and it came in at about £1400- which for the hours they put in was good value IMO.

Looks amazing.

I've been getting quotes for mine to be done by a local company. I've been advised 2 days for £200. £1400 for 14 days seems about right although I assume there was lots being done to it to make then need 14 days.

There was a lot. He'd got a lot of sap on the bonnet, and all sorts of mess around the spoiler too. They cleaned the engine bay, every door shut , petrol cap area and even polished up the lead weights on the wheels. By the end of the first week it amounted to about 50 hours of work.

Thank you. His manufacture month is March, 1998

That must make yours quite near the end of the run. I wonder when the last one left the factory. Mine was almost, or what is considered pre-run, being mid. 1996 so mine does not have the newer engine but has everything else.

I think they ran up to Aug 98. I actually viewed an S reg aerotop before I bought this one, it was RSP but I couldn't justify another £5k on the price tag.

I am trying to conserve my posts before I have to pay to use this forum, but good lord thats incredible.

May I ask - isnt £1400 a similar price for a respray? Thats how much I was being told to have my MX5 rust done, waxoiled underneath and then a full respray on top. Is there a reason you chose detailing over the full bodyshop/respray option?

I am not saying you should have gone for one however - that car literally looks like the sort of thing that goes on a stand at Autosport.

That sounds cheap to me. I asked about a respray and the view was the paintwork wasn't that bad and to do it well in their opinion would be a very expensive job.
