Michelin Pilot Super Sport/Pilot Sport 4

Anyone have these on their Supra or have tried them? I'm dusting the cobwebs off mine (literally) and need a full set of tyres replacing and was looking at Michelin as they've been quality on my other car.

I know Pilot sports have always had a good rep, wondered if anyone has used these particular models more recently?

Hey Scott :) Finally got a garage (since moving to new house) for my car after more than 14 years of owning it.. so time to pamper it a little! :)

Currently turning it into a wannabe detailing bay lol - I'll post up pics when its completed.. hopefully by the end of the bank holiday weekend.

Cheers guys. Ian, thanks for the offer but I'm looking for these in particular, just wanted some comments/reviews.

Burna, I think they came out last year. According to Michelin the PS4's are better then the Super Sports and wear better - its probably what I'll go for.

Scooter - yes mate, its a nice feeling when you have a clayed and polished car in front you.. and then in my case, 5 mins later its covered in dust! lol

Ive used the PS3 on my car before 305/25/19 and i hated them. On the limit they are very unpredictable and just snap traction. Then i went to Kumho KU39 (michelin dealers recommendation) and i have never looked back ever since. Ive used them on My Supras,Aristos,Lexus LS460 and Merc AMG CLS55 with 580BHP 620ft With out any issues what so ever. Best tyre ive ever used and ive tried the lot.

Apparently they are an update on the Super Sports, so I'll be going for the PS4's for sure, thanks Bobbeh.

The PS4's are nothing to do with the PS3's if you read the article :)

That's perfectly understandable i was just giving my feedback of Michelins then top tier tyre. Ive tried all Top branded tyres on all kinds off cars and i would never ever use anything but Kumho KU39 thats just my personal opinion. You can choose what you like [emoji106]

I agree, it's all down to personal preference, myself I've always believed Bridgestone Potenza RE050A's were the best, until I was racing Steve on DB a year ago. I was starting to get under-steer around the Spa roads, where he just gripped on Super Sports.

Hassan that's a fair enough point. I've had mixed experiences with tyres, GY EF1's were great, Pirellis I have now, not bad but not great in wet, Toyo Proxies, good all round and good value.

I wonder if the fact the tyres you tested were 25 profile were part of the snappy grip issue. That's not a great deal of sidewall for road driving!
